Audio Setup
Vendivo can apply one microphone consistently across its managed production scenes. Configure audio deliberately even when the correct microphone already appears in macOS.
Choose the show microphone
In Live Selling, open Show Settings → Audio or select Audio Settings….
Choose either:
- System Default to follow the current macOS input, or
- A named input when the show must always use a specific microphone or audio interface.
For a repeatable show, a named device is safer. System Default can change when a headset, display, interface, or continuity device connects.
Test before applying
- Select Test Microphone.
- Speak from the position and volume you will use during the show.
- Watch the input meter.
- Move the microphone or adjust its input gain if normal speech is too quiet or loud speech clips.
- Stop the test, then select Use This Microphone.
The meter proves that Vendivo can hear the microphone. Use This Microphone applies it to the managed production scenes.
Avoid echo and doubled audio
Use one active microphone path for the audience.
- Do not leave the same physical microphone active as two separate OBS sources.
- Mute browser monitoring or speakers that feed back into the microphone.
- Use headphones for an end-to-end destination check.
- Reapply the Vendivo microphone after making advanced audio changes in Pro Mode.
When Vendivo applies its managed microphone, it mutes other active OBS microphone inputs to reduce duplicate sound. Custom Pro Mode routing can override that protection, so verify again afterward.
Make a video-only program
If another system will carry the sound, enable Make Vendivo broadcasts video-only and apply the video-only choice.
Do not use video-only mode as a workaround for a microphone problem. A silent confidence preview does not prove that the destination has another working audio source.
What each output carries
| Output | Video | Audio |
|---|---|---|
| Whatnot Show Tools / WHIP | Vendivo program | Vendivo-managed microphone |
| Managed RTMP or RTMPS | Vendivo program | Vendivo-managed microphone |
| OBS Virtual Camera | Composed OBS picture | No OBS audio |
| Vendivo Phone Camera (Direct), forthcoming | One phone companion | No audio |
For camera-device outputs, choose a separate microphone in the destination app.
Test at the destination
The Vendivo meter confirms local input. Before going live, also listen to the destination preview or a private rehearsal from a second device.
Verify that:
- Speech is present.
- Speech remains present after every scene switch.
- There is no echo or second delayed voice.
- Loud speech does not distort.
- The destination is not muted.
If the microphone is missing
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and enable Vendivo.
- Reconnect the microphone or audio interface.
- Confirm macOS sees it in System Settings → Sound → Input.
- Quit and reopen Vendivo.
- Return to Show Settings → Audio and choose the device again.
If the meter moves but viewers hear nothing
- Confirm you selected Use This Microphone after the test.
- Confirm video-only mode is off.
- Confirm the destination uses the Vendivo program path, not a video-only virtual camera.
- Check the destination's own mute control.
- Run Apply & Verify after changing the microphone.
If audio errors mention Replay Buffer
An OBS message such as GetReplayBufferStatus: Replay buffer is not available does not mean the microphone failed. Replay Buffer is a separate OBS feature. Judge show audio by the selected input, Vendivo's meter, and an end-to-end listening test.
