First Show Checklist
Use this before your first public sale and after any destination, camera, microphone, OBS, or recording change. Budget at least ten quiet minutes and keep the public broadcast off until the checklist tells you to start it.
Before opening the show
- Put the Mac on power and disable anything that may interrupt the show.
- Connect each camera and close other apps that may be using it.
- Connect the show microphone and headphones, if used.
- Check free Mac storage if you will record.
- Open the marketplace show page and confirm the account can use its desktop broadcast tools.
- Save unrelated OBS work before Vendivo repairs or synchronizes its managed setup.
Choose the show configuration
- Open Vendivo and choose Live Selling.
- Open Show Settings → Accounts & Marketplaces and choose the marketplace mode first: Manual / External, Whatnot, eBay Live, or TikTok Shop.
- For Whatnot, confirm the studio changes to the 1080 × 1920 portrait workflow.
- For a non-Whatnot stream, plan to choose Selling marketplace, YouTube Live, Twitch, or Custom RTMP later under Output & Recording.
- In SHOW QUEUE, select Add Items…, add at least one product, card, break, or lot, and save the queue.
- Confirm the first item's starting view.
The marketplace mode comes first because choosing Whatnot changes both the program format and the available camera roles. The separate Output & Recording destination controls where a standard RTMP show is sent.
Prepare cameras, engine, and audio
- Open Show Settings → Cameras and confirm every assignment by exact device name.
- Open Show Settings → Production Engine.
- Select Set Up OBS Automatically for a first setup or Sync OBS Setup after a change.
- Wait for the production engine and managed scenes to report ready.
- Open Show Settings → Audio, run Test Microphone, and select Use This Microphone.
- If the show should be silent, deliberately enable Make Vendivo broadcasts video-only instead.
Connect Whatnot without going on air
Skip this section for another destination.
- Open Whatnot Connection… in Vendivo.
- Confirm the address is
127.0.0.1and the port is4455. - Enter a WebSocket password of at least eight characters and select Verify & Apply.
- Copy the applied password into Whatnot Show Tools in Chrome.
- Confirm Show Tools connects to Vendivo.
- Keep the public broadcast stopped.
The connection password is local OBS authentication, not a Whatnot password or stream key.
Apply output settings
- Open Show Settings → Output & Recording.
- For standard RTMP, confirm the output destination, server, and private stream key. For Whatnot, confirm the fixed Whatnot Show Tools output.
- Confirm the microphone or video-only choice, recording folder, and Record with broadcast choice where available.
- Select Apply & Verify.
- Resolve the first failed check and select Check Again.
- Review Production engine, Destination/Whatnot Show Tools configuration, Microphone, Internet, Recording storage, and Computer health.
Apply & Verify applies output, recording-folder, and microphone configuration. It does not create scenes, test an actual recording, verify camera picture, or prove that Whatnot Show Tools/WHIP is connected or live.
Test the audience picture
In TEST CAMERA VIEWS, switch through every enabled view while the public broadcast is off.
- Seller shows the seller camera and intended framing.
- Product shows the product camera or expected one-camera view.
- Stacked shows both assigned cameras with most space reserved for the product.
- Picture-in-Picture keeps the product clear; move the seller window left or right if needed.
- For a landscape show, Host, Break, Close-up, and Protected Overview each show the intended composition.
- Motion is live rather than frozen or stale.
- Readable text has the correct orientation at the destination.
- Vendivo labels, warnings, item notes, and preview badges do not appear in the clean output.
Seller, Product, Stacked, and Picture-in-Picture are Whatnot views. Host, Break, Close-up, and Protected Overview are landscape views. Test only the views enabled for the selected destination; Stacked and Picture-in-Picture require two distinct cameras.
Test audio end to end
- Speak at the loudest level you expect during the show.
- Confirm the Vendivo meter reaches a healthy range without clipping.
- Use a private rehearsal or destination preview to listen when one is available.
- Confirm there is one voice, not an echo or delayed duplicate.
- Confirm the destination is not muted.
Vendivo's confidence preview verifies picture, not the final sound heard by a remote viewer. If the platform offers no off-air audio preview, listen immediately after going live.
Start the local show, then the broadcast
- Confirm every required picture test passed while off air.
- Select Start Show in Vendivo.
- Confirm Vendivo stages the first queue item and its starting view.
- For Whatnot, select RECORD manually if desired and confirm the control changes to RECORDING. Then start the public broadcast in Whatnot Show Tools.
- For standard RTMP, use Vendivo's START control. If Record with broadcast is enabled, confirm Vendivo also starts the recording.
- Confirm the applicable destination reports that it is live.
- Watch and listen briefly from a second device without feeding its speaker into the show microphone.
- Return to Vendivo for item progression, camera switching, seller cues, and program confidence.
Start Show begins Vendivo's local timeline and program flow. It does not put the destination on air.
Do not change the WebSocket password, reinstall production components, synchronize scenes, or test unverified views during an active show, broadcast, or recording.
During the show
- Watch the clean program, not only individual camera thumbnails.
- Switch to Product before bringing an item close to the lens.
- Keep the Picture-in-Picture seller window away from the item.
- Treat a frozen preview, missing camera, or lost-engine warning as actionable.
- Keep OBS hidden in Normal Mode. Open Pro Mode only for an intentional advanced change.
Stop safely
- For Whatnot, stop in Show Tools. For standard RTMP, use Vendivo's STOP control.
- Confirm the destination reports that the output is off air.
- If a recording is still active, stop it in Vendivo, wait for the recording file to finalize, and verify it. A recording started by Record with broadcast should stop with the standard RTMP broadcast, but confirm its state.
- Select End Show in Vendivo to finish and save its local timeline.
- Disconnect cameras or close the Mac only after the recording and timeline are safe.
Ending the Vendivo show does not stop the public broadcast. Confirm the destination is off air first.
If any check fails
Do not go live yet. Use Troubleshooting, fix the first failed state, synchronize the production engine if cameras or scenes changed, and repeat the affected output and picture checks.
