Multiple Cameras
Vendivo for Mac can compose cameras available to macOS. Choose the marketplace mode first, because Whatnot portrait and standard landscape shows use different camera roles and scenes.
The safe setup order
- Open Live Selling.
- Under Show Settings → Accounts & Marketplaces, choose Manual / External, Whatnot, eBay Live, or TikTok Shop.
- Under Cameras, assign each required role.
- Under Production Engine, select Set Up OBS Automatically or Sync OBS Setup.
- Under Output & Recording, select Apply & Verify.
- In TEST CAMERA VIEWS, inspect every enabled view while public output is off.
Camera assignments save as you make them. The finished program picture is verified later in the studio; the Cameras settings page is not the final audience preview.
Whatnot portrait cameras
Whatnot uses Camera 1 for a one-camera setup, or separate Seller and Product assignments for two cameras.
One camera
The device assigned as Camera 1 supplies the full-screen Seller and Product views. Vendivo does not create a duplicated self-overlay.
Two cameras
Assign two distinct devices:
- Seller frames the host.
- Product points at the item or selling surface.
This enables:
- Seller — seller full-screen
- Product — product full-screen
- Stacked — product receives most of the frame, with seller below
- Picture-in-Picture — product remains full-screen, with a smaller seller window
In Picture-in-Picture, use Move seller window left/right to keep the seller away from the item.
Standard landscape cameras
Landscape assignment labels depend on camera count: Camera 1; Wide / Host and Product; or Overview, Product, and Host. Those assignments produce the Host, Break, Close-up, and Protected Overview operating views.
- One camera: assign Camera 1; it supplies every required mode.
- Two cameras: assign Wide / Host and Product. The wide camera supplies Host and protected Overview; Product supplies Break and Close-up.
- Three cameras: assign Overview, Product, and Host.
Do not follow the Whatnot Seller/Stacked/Picture-in-Picture instructions for a landscape show.
Choose stable device roles
Use the physical framing to decide assignments:
- Put the product camera where hands and item details remain sharp.
- Frame the host camera so Picture-in-Picture or Stacked placement still looks intentional.
- Use Overview for a protected wide angle that remains useful during transitions.
- Avoid selecting the same physical device for two roles when the layout requires distinct cameras.
After unplugging a camera during a show, reconnect the same device and use Recover or Recover Program first. If an assignment or device must change, follow the safe structural-repair order below.
Performance under load
Every additional feed increases capture, composition, preview, and optional recording work. OBS may remain smooth while the Vendivo confidence preview updates less often because the app prioritizes the production program over its monitoring surface.
For a stable show:
- Close unneeded camera and encoding apps.
- Use 30 fps sources unless the show requires more.
- Avoid recording more outputs than you need.
- Keep cameras on stable USB connections and avoid overloaded hubs.
- Test switching while the Mac is doing the same work it will do during the sale.
A lagging confidence preview should be investigated, but always judge the audience path using the destination preview as well.
If a camera disappears
- If the same camera or engine can be reconnected, leave an interrupted show open and select Recover or Recover Program.
- If an assignment, source, or scene must change, stop the public broadcast and confirm it is off air.
- Stop and finalize recording, select End Show, and wait for output or setup transitions to finish.
- Confirm the device is visible to macOS and restore the assignment under Cameras.
- Select Sync OBS Setup under Production Engine.
- Run Apply & Verify, then repeat every affected camera-view test.
See Camera Setup for permissions and missing integrated-camera checks, or Troubleshooting for program-picture failures.
About phone cameras
The iPhone and Android companion apps are still in store-release preparation and are not public customer downloads. Multiple local Mac cameras are the current workflow; mixed-phone production remains forthcoming.
