Production Engine & Pro Mode

Vendivo uses OBS Studio as its local production engine. Vendivo is the normal control surface; OBS supplies the composition and output foundation behind it.

Normal Mode keeps OBS out of the way

When Vendivo needs the engine, it launches OBS in tray mode and keeps the full OBS window hidden. Camera switching, the confidence preview, item cues, audio settings, preflight, recording, and recovery remain in Vendivo.

Seeing no OBS window in Normal Mode is expected. Do not launch another OBS instance to make production work.

Pro Mode opens the complete OBS interface

Open the ellipsis menu (More Studio controls) and choose Open Pro Mode when you intentionally need OBS filters, advanced audio routing, transforms, sources, or other expert controls.

Pro Mode opens the same profile, scene collection, and program that Vendivo controls. A change there can immediately affect the audience picture.

Before structural Pro Mode work:

1. Stop the public broadcast and confirm the destination reports off air.
2. If recording is active, stop it, wait for finalization, and verify the file.
3. Select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted.
4. Wait for broadcast, recording, and setup transitions to finish.
5. Make the advanced change.
6. Return to Vendivo, synchronize the production engine if scenes changed, and repeat output and picture verification.

Set up or synchronize OBS

Open Show Settings → Production Engine.

• Select Set Up OBS Automatically for the first setup or after a component repair.
• Select Sync OBS Setup after cameras, destination format, or managed production structure changes.

Vendivo checks OBS Studio and the universal Vendivo Camera plugin, enables authenticated local WebSocket control, starts or reconnects the engine, and creates or synchronizes the managed production scenes.

Audio, destination, and recording are applied separately under Audio and Output & Recording. Apply & Verify does not create scenes.

What setup preserves

Vendivo does not delete unrelated OBS profiles, scene collections, scenes, sources, recordings, stream keys, or filters. It synchronizes its own managed production workspace and leaves unrelated OBS work separate.

If a plugin update is ready while OBS is running, save any OBS work, stop the public broadcast and confirm the destination reports off air, stop and finalize any recording, select End Show if the local show is active or interrupted, and wait for broadcast, recording, and setup transitions to finish. Then quit OBS, return to Vendivo, and retry the setup action.

Managed Whatnot scenes

For Whatnot, Vendivo creates these fixed 1080 × 1920 scenes:

• Whatnot — Seller
• Whatnot — Product
• Whatnot — Stacked
• Whatnot — Picture-in-Picture

One camera supplies the full-screen Seller and Product views. Separate Seller and Product cameras enable Stacked and Picture-in-Picture.

These scenes are intentionally clean. Vendivo dashboard labels, seller notes, warnings, preview badges, scene names, and branding are not sent to the audience.

Managed landscape scenes

The standard landscape workflow uses:

• Live Selling — Host
• Live Selling — Break
• Live Selling — Close-up
• Live Selling — Protected Overview

Camera role assignments depend on whether the studio uses one, two, or three cameras. See Multiple Cameras.

Local WebSocket control

Vendivo connects to OBS on the local loopback address. The Whatnot workflow uses:

• Address: 127.0.0.1
• Port: 4455
• An applied WebSocket password of at least eight characters

Open Whatnot Connection…, choose a password, and select Verify & Apply. Enter the same address, port, and password in Whatnot Show Tools. The Copy button places the password on the clipboard for 60 seconds.

The credential stays on this Mac and is not a Whatnot password. Changing it is blocked during an active or interrupted local show, broadcast, recording, output transition, or production setup.

Whatnot delivery boundary

Whatnot Show Tools connects to the managed OBS WebSocket and supplies the show's WHIP connection. Vendivo prepares and switches the program; Show Tools starts and stops the public broadcast.

Vendivo does not sign in to Whatnot or control listings, product pins, auctions, chat, orders, or account actions.

OBS Virtual Camera

OBS Virtual Camera publishes the composed OBS picture to apps that only offer a camera picker. It carries no OBS audio and is a compatibility path, not the primary Whatnot workflow.

Camera Home is a separate forthcoming path

Camera Home and Vendivo Phone Camera (Direct) are designed for the forthcoming phone companions. Camera Home does not currently choose local Mac cameras. Use Live Selling for the released Mac-camera production workflow.
